Manifesto for World EoE Day 2025

Manifesto for World EoE Day 2025

On May 22, 2025, the inaugural World Eosinophilic Esophagitis Day (#EoEDay) will unite a global coalition of patient advocacy organizations, with the support of the medical community and healthcare industry partners, to raise awareness and drive action for those affected by this chronic and often misunderstood condition. EoE is a chronic disease in which eosinophils (a type of white blood cell) build up in the esophagus, leading to inflammation, difficulty swallowing, and other complications. It can significantly impact a patient’s quality of life, especially when left undiagnosed or untreated.

Our Vision

We envision a world where:

  • EoE is recognized and understood by the public and healthcare providers alike.
  • Patients receive timely and accurate diagnoses, leading to effective management and improved quality of life.
  • Research and innovation in EoE are prioritized, leading to better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.
  • Support systems are in place to assist patients and their families, fostering a community of care and compassion.

Our Mission

To achieve this vision, we commit to:

  • Raising Awareness: Educating the public and healthcare professionals about the symptoms, diagnosis, and management of EoE.
  • Advocating for Research: Promoting and supporting research initiatives aimed at understanding the causes of EoE and developing effective treatments.
  • Providing Support: Offering resources and support to patients and families affected by EoE, ensuring they are not alone in their journey.
  • Collaborating Globally: Working with international organizations, healthcare providers, and policymakers to create a unified approach to tackling EoE.

Call to Action

We call upon individuals, communities, healthcare providers, and policymakers to join us in this global movement. Together, we can:

  • Share Knowledge: Disseminate information about EoE to increase understanding and reduce stigma.
  • Support Research: Contribute to and advocate for research efforts that aim to improve the lives of those affected by EoE.
  • Provide Compassion: Offer support and empathy to patients and families, acknowledging their challenges and celebrating their resilience.
  • Advocate for Change: Engage with policymakers to ensure that EoE is recognized as a priority in healthcare agendas worldwide.

Conclusion

World EoE Day is not just a day of awareness; it is a call to action. It is a day to stand in solidarity with those affected by EoE and to commit to making a difference in their lives. Together, we can create a world where EoE is understood, managed, and ultimately overcome.

Join us on May 22, 2025, and be a part of this transformative movement.
